Some of you may already know that the eCoffeeCard app is run by Hey You. Hey You is an order ahead app used by people who want to order their coffee, drinks and food ahead of arrival.
We’ve run both the eCoffeeCard app and the Hey You app side by side for a long time, and have always had the intention of one day bringing the loyalty scanning feature of eCoffeeCard into Hey You. That day is finally around the corner.
We felt this was a good time to give everyone – especially those who are currently using eCoffeeCard – a quick heads-up on what’s going to change (and what’s going to stay the same).
I’m an eCoffeeCard user – What’s happening?
More than 3 years ago eCoffeeCard joined the Hey You team! It’s been the same people working behind the scenes of Hey You and eCoffeeCard that whole time. We now want to roll the eCoffeeCard app into the Hey You app to create one SUPER app!
We’ll be moving all the most important aspects of eCoffeeCard over to Hey You – the QR code scanner and the way that you redeem loyalty hot drinks will remain the same, just inside a different app. The look and feel will be different. It will be branded ‘Hey You’ instead of eCoffeeCard.
At the moment you don’t need to do anything.
Over the next few weeks we will email eCoffeeCard users with instructions on what to do. If you are an anonymous user on eCoffeeCard, make sure that that you create an account. This is very important as we will email all users with instructions on how to keep their loyalty points. If you don’t have an account, we will be unable to email you. Please make sure that you create an account over the next week.
To make the transition a little smoother, we are going to match the exact number of loyalty stamps you have in eCoffeeCard in Hey You. Even better, we’re also going to give you an additional free coffee to test out any of our order ahead venues!
I’m a Hey You user – What’s happening?
There are no big changes for Hey You order ahead users. Your ordering experience is exactly the same.
You may start to notice Hey You branded ‘QR codes’ at the counter of different venues. This is to replace the eCoffeeCard branded ‘QR codes’. These QR codes are for loyalty only customers. As an order ahead customer, you do not need to scan for loyalty points – these collect automatically when you order on the app.
Over the next few weeks you will notice an app update. In this update you will see that the position of the ‘map’ icon has moved. In it’s place, there is a ‘scan’ icon. This is for people that want to scan loyalty barcodes in venues. The map icon will move to the bottom of the screen.
Why is our team excited?
The cool thing about both eCoffeeCard and Hey You is that we connect our users with awesome cafes and food venues. We give people the technology to simplify their cafe experiences. Whether you’re wanting to scan loyalty points, or order ahead on your way to work, it’s just easier on our apps.
So over the next few weeks we’ll be excited to roll the eCoffeeCard features into the Hey You app. This will mean a new look and feel for all of our eCoffeeCard users, but the same functionality.
We’re still a few weeks away from completely transitioning the product. When we get a bit closer to the date we will email you with the steps you should follow to download Hey You and redeem all of your eCoffeeCard stamps.
